The Dream Marathon: Getting Jamba-fied Before the Big Run

These are the goals shared by Jaymie Pizarro, Armand Mendoza, Mitch Felipe-Mendoza, Miriam Valero, and the rest of the 600 participants of The Bull Runner’s (TBR) Dream Marathon. They discussed their weight management program recently at the newly opened flagship store of Jamba Juice at Bonifacio High Street (BHS) South.
Participants will undergo 22 weeks of training in preparation for their upcoming marathon on March 18, 2012.
“Our members will be racking up new distances and new activities that they have never covered before, which is why we’re going to have disciplined programs, which include, of course, a proper diet with the right nutrition,” said Jaymie Pizarro, passionate runner and owner of the popular blog ‘The Bull Runner’.
At the event, TBR Dream Marathoner Miriam Valero shared stories about her struggles while she was trying to lose weight, and her discovery that running was the best way to achieve her goal.
More than finishing the miles set for a marathon, TBR is also pushing for its members to shift to a better diet. Jaymie stressed that “proper nutrition is the key to give the body the right fuel so that it can go the distance.” In line with this, trainer Armand Mendoza said he’s thankful for the opening of Jamba Juice at BHS South. Aside from its central and convenient location at the center of a popular venue for the running community, he shared that not a lot of establishments offer drinks and snacks that complement one’s running regimen.
“Runners will really appreciate something that they can get on the go, especially those who are too busy to prepare their own fruit juices and snacks,” Armand said.
